Horrendous Accident at AMRI Hospital, Kolkata, West Bengal, India

Today at about 2:30 a.m an accident occurred at AMRI Hospital Kolkata being caught in fire and about 88 persons have been died till now. It is one of the gruelsome accident that ever took place in the world. We have no word how to console the kith and kin of the bereaved families. Although the hospital has been sealed and its licence has been revoked including the arrest of its six directors, it is not all, it demands more stringent actions against the culprits.

It is one of the saddest day in the history of West Bengal.

WE ALL MOURN DEEPLY AT THE PATHETIC DEATH OF THE PERSONS WHO LOST THEIR LIFE AND PRAY THAT THEIR SOUL BE REST IN PEACE.

Hon'ble Chief Minister kindly take severest action against the hospital authority ensuring of no loss of life in future.

REUNION - A NOSTALGIC EVENT

Reunion is a nostalgic event, no one can deny it. Memories of old days return like waves in the mind of the alumni. It also revives many many good and bad memories of someone. REBECA is the reunion of the Bengal Engineering and Science University's old students organised every year. It's a very big cultural event in the life of its syudents. Cultural events are performed by the noted artistes of the country. Also students from other institutes like IITs, Jadavpur University, Calcutta University and other engineering colleges of West Bengal.
This year REBECA is being organised during 7-10 April 2011.

Death of Souvik Swami - a first year student of BESU, Shibpur

On 19th March 2011, the day of Holi, Souvik Swami, a first year student of IT of Bengal Enginnering and Science University, Shibpur had drowned in the gharikal pond when he along with other ten students went down in the pond to wash their hands and feet. All the BESU community deeply mourns his untimely demise and have taken it a task to ensure that such incident does not repeat.

He comes of a middle class family of Patna and elder son of his father. It was later revealed that he did not know swimming.
