Poverty - A Curse of Mankind

Poverty is the worst enemy of the mankind. It is the defeat of the human beings that we could not wipe out this menace from the countries in spite of the huge development in the field of Science & Technology. In India almost one-third of the population are either very poor or so called lower middle class who live in a hand to mouth condition. About Seventy percent of people earn  only a meagre money equals to Rs. 20/-. So everybody of us should be more frugal and should think of the people who are on the other side of the development. All educated and concious people should be more sensitive and shall try to minister the needs of the poors who live every where of india as well as outside of it. We should consider to donate a part of our income for the benifits of these sons of the God.

  1. Literally, poverty is a curse of mankind. Despite timeless development in science and technology across the world bringing advancement in every walks of life, the result of the fruition is not ubiquitous. Paucity of natural resources and lack of education are the most recognizable culprits responsible for the utter destitution of humankind. Lack of natural resources disheartens men striving further to man the nature for yielding essentials. On the contrary, lack of education drives less awareness resulting in high growth rate of population.

The idea of becoming thrifty for the sake of the poor is absolutely welcoming and deserves thousands of salutes. But only a few among us bear that high ideal rather most of us are self-centred and love to devote our time, energy and earnings in our own personal livelihood. Our so-called education, social awareness and feel-for-other factors are insufficient to drive us in sharing our income for the upliftment of the destitutes prevalent across the country. That’s why the rich are becoming richer and the poor are becoming poorer. Going by the growing number of old-age homes and NGO organisations, it is rather unfortunate that we even don’t bother to look after our not-for-nothing old parents in their grey days and it is no less exemplary to evoke our educated ethics.

Being a member of the optimistic youths, I wish that we learn to contribute our earnings amidst the poor in no time. The challenge of eradicating the poor from our society would have been faster enough if the governments, be it Central or state governments, premier private organisations, affluent and sympathized individuals and above all the World Bank come forward in a more poised footing.
